North West Leicestershire GP Limited was formed in 2014 when the GP practices within the locality joined forces to deliver high quality care to their combined patient population. Through strong working-relationships we have been able to deliver many additional services to our patients, some of which you will find detailed on our services page.
Since 2019, the Federation has also been responsible for the running and management of the North West Leicestershire Primary Care Network (PCN) and other clinical services including the Leicestershire Women’s Health Hub.
What is a Primary Care Network (PCN)?
A primary care network is a group of practices who work together to focus on local patient care. They’ve been around since 2019 and 99 per cent of practices across England now work as part of one.
With increased demand and a shortage of clinical staff, practices find they can provide greater, more personalised care for patients when they can work together on certain services or issues.
Take a look at this short animation from NHS England which explains how they work.
